Monastic sangha
At all times in existence there have been two categories of people - I, who walk the roads of “this world”, and I, who walk the ‘supra-mundane’ path, bringing divinity into this world.
For many centuries, in both Eastern (Vedic, Tantric, Buddhist) and Western (for example, Christian) cultures, it was the monasteries (ashrams, mathas, guru-kulas) that were the strongholds of knowledge of both spiritual and applied sciences.

Detailed about the monastic sangha
«In the Hindu tradition there have always been a few for whom the world has no appeal and whose karmas are running out. Some of them are mendicant monks. Others live with their brothers in monasteries...»
«A sannyasi is a messenger, an ambassador from another world to the world of people, called to be a medium, a mediator between the profane and sacred dimensions».
At all times in existence there have been two categories of people - I, who walk the roads of 'this world', and I, who walk the 'supra-mundane' path, bringing divinity into this world.
For many centuries, in both Eastern (Vedic, Tantric, Buddhist) and Western (for example, Christian) cultures, it was the monasteries (ashrams, mathas, guru-kulas) that were the strongholds of knowledge of both spiritual and applied sciences.
In the thriving civilizations of the past, monasticism as an institution was always respected and revered - therefore the whole society lived according to the laws of Dharma (divine commandments of unity), having as its main direction - the vector of development towards Divinity.
And today it is very important for us to revive the culture of respect for the institution of sannyasa (monasticism), the principles of dana - donations to monasteries.
Why is this so?
Because monks are those who live by service, prayer and meditation, those who 'acquire' the most subtle energy – the spiritual energy of tapas, self-sufficiency, peace, love – pure sattva. Without such energy of grace, the world suffocates in ignorance, egoism and rivalry (tamas and rajas) – as we can see today. Therefore, such support of monastic communities is very important.
Another important aspect of making donations is the principle of accumulating favorable imprints in consciousness (seeds of white karma), which, when sprouting, will allow us to become increasingly successful in all areas of life - on the spiritual and worldly path.
If someone finds it difficult to meditate, practice or go to retreats, this is an indicator of a not very high level of merit (insufficient number of noble, sublime imprints in the consciousness).
If coarse desires dominate, the energy is restless, and the mind is clouded, then even diligent meditation will most likely not give a breakthrough, spiritual experience and the desired transformation, and without 'reprogramming' the subconscious, it is impossible to do here. And the simplest and most effective way of such 'reprogramming' (replacing unfavorable imprints with favorable ones) is service and charity.
By sharing your energy with monasteries, exchanging energy with saints and their disciples, you will gradually be able to replenish the fund of favorable impressions in your subconscious, and therefore radically change your destiny for the better.
