Shiva Prema Sagar
In the heart of Italy, where the hills meet the sky, where the wind whispers ancient prayers, a space of peace and enlightenment was born – the ashram of the Worldwide Sanatana Dharma Community.
With the blessing of the Guru, in 2024, Shiva Prem Sagar was founded in picturesque Umbria, the new centre of our community, where the Guru is now located and most of the monastics live.

Purchasing an ashram
At the end of 2023, through the joint efforts of the sangha, a unique monastic ashram was acquired on the green slopes of the hills of Umbria. The area of the residential complex is 1740 m², and the total territory is 30 hectares. For the purchase, we took out a loan and part of the amount has already been contributed through the joint efforts of the sangha, but we still need to raise 700,000 euros

Detailed about the Ashram
The forced migration of the monastic sangha, related to the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, served as a kind of impetus for a larger spread of the Teachings – this is how the Dharma manifested itself in Europe and Italy in particular.
Italy is a country with a stable economic and political system, a loyal attitude to different cultures and nationalities, and to all spiritual traditions.
There are favourable conditions here – mild winters and a large number of sunny days. It is a place where you will want to come to live, serve, practice, take retreats and spread the Dharma all over the world.
The ashram is located on a hill in an olive grove, on an area of 30 hectares. The complex of buildings includes 27 apartments, as well as a large dining room and a professional kitchen.. In the near future, it is planned to build a large altar hall for the community's events. Further expansion of living areas and other dharmic areas is planned.
We hope that in time, Shiva Prem Sagar will become the centre of our tradition on a global scale.
Today in the ashram:
- pujas and satsangs are held regularly;
- morning practices and evening meditations;
- the process of learning is underway, collective and individual sadhana are nurtured;
- various large events are held: celebrations (jayanti, purnima, Shivaratri, etc.), seminars, dikshas and initiations with the participation of the Gurudev;
- and, of course, service is performed for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Shiva Prema Sagar can be visited by anyone who would like to dip into the grace-filled, blessed atmosphere of ashram life.
